1 For the sun rose with a burning heat, and parched the grass, and the flower thereof fell off, and the beauty of the shape thereof perished: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.


2 Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.


Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and of the spirit, perfecting sactification in the fear of God.


8 They shall take up serpents; and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay their hands upon the sick, and they shall recover.


3 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my law in their bowels, and I will write it in their heart: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.


I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.


9 But they constrained him; saying: Stay with us, because it is towards evening, and the day is now far spent. And he went in with them.


Thou hast hated them that regard vanities, to no purpose. But I have hoped in the Lord:


2 To the end that my glory may sing to thee, and I may not regret: O Lord my God, I will give praise to thee for ever.


For every one shall bear his own burden.


9 For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners; so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just.


5 Then he said to them: O foolish, and slow of heart to believe in all things which the prophets have spoken.


5 And the people stood beholding, and the rulers with them derided him, saying: He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the elect of God.


1 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth her seed to shoot forth: so shall the Lord God make justice to spring forth, and praise before all the nations.


6 And saying: Alas! alas! that great city, which was clothed with fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and was gilt with gold, and precious stones, and pearls.


9 And the temple of God was opened in heaven: and the ark of his testament was seen in his temple, and there were lightnings, and voices, and an earthquake, and great hail.


And the word of the Lord increased; and the number of the disciples was multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly: a great multitude also of the priests obeyed the faith.


Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.


4 He shall glorify me; because he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it to you.


0 Then said they all: Art thou then the Son of God? Who said: You say that I am.


3 When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.


9 And to him that striketh thee on the one cheek, offer also the other. And him that taketh away from thee thy cloak, forbid not to take thy coat also.


And when the multitude was come up, they began to desire that he would do, as he had ever done unto them.


3 As one whom the mother caresseth, so will I comfort you, and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.


I have commanded my sanctified ones, and have called my strong ones in my wrath, them that rejoice in my glory.


with long trumpets, and sound of comet. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king:


0 His children shall be oppressed with want, and his hands shall render him his sorrow.


For neither have we used, at any time, the speech of flattery, as you know; nor taken an occasion of covetousness, God is witness:


8 Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God.


6 And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet.
