1 For the king of Babylon stood in the highway, at the head of two ways, seeking divination, shuffling arrows: he inquired of the idols, and consulted entrails.


Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O thou most mighty.


7 If the morning suddenly appear, it is to them the shadow of death: and they walk in darkness as if it were in light.


If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one for a thousand.


2 Now there was a word spoken to me in private, and my ears by stealth as it were received the veins of its whisper.

0 That I should come about with this form of speech, thy servant Joab, commanded this: but thou, my lord, O king, art wise, according to the wisdom of ail angel of God, to understand all things upon earth.


7 Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, saying in his heart: Shall a son, thinkest thou, be born to him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sara that is ninety years old bring forth?
