O Lord my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands:


I thought in my heart, to withdraw my flesh from wine, that I might turn my mind to wisdom, and might avoid folly, till I might see what was profitable for the children of men: and what they ought to do under the sun, all the days of their life.


2 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and my supplication : give ear to my tears. Be not silent : for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner as all my fathers were.

2 I that was formerly so wealthy, am all on a sudden broken to pieces: he hath taken me by my neck, he hath broken me, and hath set me up to be his mark.


Remember that my life is but wind, and my eyes shall not return to see good things.


Some have removed landmarks, have taken away flocks by force, and fed them.


If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies.
