8 Brought him beds, and tapestry, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and meal, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and fried pulse,


5 And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.


9 How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?


1 Why dost thou not remove my sin, and why dost thou not take away my iniquity? Behold now I shall sleep in the dust: and if thou seek me in the morning, I shall not be.


1 And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying Peace, peace: when there was no peace.


1 And shall not I spare Ninive, that great city, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons that know not how to distinguish between their right hand and their left, and many beasts?


6 Have I not dissembled ? have I not kept silence ? have I not been quiet? and indignation is come upon me.


Then Eliphaz the Themanite answered, and said:


6 They have passed by as ships carrying fruits, as an eagle flying to the prey.


4 Is it not better to eat and drink, and to shew his soul good things of his labours? and this is from the hand of God.


For the wickedness of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the wickedness of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Juda? are they not Jerusalem ?
