A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day. It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High.


1 Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.


1 Can the rush be green without moisture? or a sedge-bush grow without water?


1 Because they had exasperated the words of God: and provoked the counsel of the most High:


But you have set yourselves up against me, and reprove me with my reproaches.


1 The Lord will make thee abound with all goods, with the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy cattle, with the fruit of thy land, which the Lord swore to thy fathers that he would give thee.


For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth even unto the clouds.


0 Keep thou my soul, and deliver me: I shall not be ashamed, for I have hoped in thee.


0 They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, and horror shall fall upon them that went before.


And David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I pursue after these robbers, and shall I overtake them, or not? And the Lord said to him: Pursue after them: for thou shalt surely overtake them and recover the prey.


8 And they shall hear thy voice: and thou shalt go in, thou and the ancients of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and thou shalt say to him: The Lord God of the Hebrews hath called us: we will go three days' journey into the wilderness, to sacrifice unto the Lord our God.


0 The wicked shall see, and shall be angry, he shall gnash with his teeth and pine away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
