7 Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice : my only one from the lions.


their judges falling upon the rock have been swallowed up. They shall hear my words, for they have prevailed:


He shall drink of the torrent in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.


Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory over all the earth:


1 And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him.


He shall rain snares upon sinners: fire and brimstone and storms of winds shall be the portion of their cup.


For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done?


5 And when a spirit passed before me, the hair of my flesh stood up.


6 There stood one whose countenance I knew not, an image before my eyes, and I heard the voice as it were of a gentle wind:


6 Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.


2 To my words they durst add nothing, and my speech dropped upon them.


4 Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.


6 My father, let Job be tried even to the end : cease not from the man of iniquity.


2 But if they hear not, they shall pass by the sword, and shall be consumed in folly.


1 Beware thou turn not aside to iniquity : for this thou hast begun to follow after misery.


1 Didst thou know then that thou shouldst be born ? and didst thou know the number of thy days?
