0 If a man carnally lie with a woman that is a bondservant and marriageable, and yet not redeemed with a price, nor made free: they both shall be scourged, and they shall not be put to death, because she was not a free woman.


4 Saying: Master, Moses said: If a man die having no son, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up issue to his brother.


5 For he knoweth their works : and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed.


3 Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to me.


0 I passed by the field of the slothful man, and by the vineyard of the foolish man:


5 Although he should bill me, I will trust in him: but yet I will reprove my ways in his sight.

2 And you came all to me, and said: Let us send men who may view the land, and bring us word what way we shall go up, and to what cities we shall go.


The spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gave me life.


Behold God hath made me as well as thee, and of the same clay I also was formed.


I am clean, and without sin : I am unspotted, and there is no iniquity in me.


A canticle of a psalm for Asaph. O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.


When just men increase, the people shall rejoice: when the wicked shall bear rule, the people shall mourn.


7 You have wearied the Lord with your words, and you said: Wherein have we wearied him? In that you say: Every one that doth evil, is good in the sight of the Lord, and such please him: or surely where is the God of judgment?
