1 Who call a bird from the east, and from a far country the man of my own will, and I have spoken, and will bring it to pass: I have created, and I will do it.


The inhabitants of Samaria have worshipped the king of Bethaven: for the people thereof have mourned over it, and the wardens of its temple that rejoiced over it in its glory because it is departed from it.


8 Why is my sorrow become perpetual, and my wound desperate so as to refuse to be healed? it is become to me as the falsehood of deceitful waters that cannot be trusted.


3 Let them be confounded and come to nothing that detract my soul; let them be covered with confusion and shame that seek my hurt.


Neither is it my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord: without iniquity have I run, and directed my steps.


5 Or with princes, that possess gold, and All their houses with silver:


7 There the wicked cease from tumult, and there the wearied in strength are at rest.


It is better therefore that two should be together, than one: for they have the advantage of their society:


0 If one fall he shall be supported by the other: woe to him that is alone, for when he falleth, he hath none to lift him up.


And after this, saith the Lord, I will give Sedecias the king of Juda, and his servants, and his people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, and the sword , and the famine, into the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword, and he shall not be moved to pity, nor spare them, nor shew mercy on them.


0 He that shall be, his name is already called: and it is known, that he is man, and cannot contend in judgment with him that is stronger than himself.


2 What needeth a man to seek things that are above him, whereas he knoweth not what is profitable for him in his life, in all the days of his pilgrimage, and the time that passeth like a shadow? Or who can tell him what shall be after him under the sun?
