1 For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them.


2 Eliseus therefore went into the house, and behold the child lay dead on his bed.

9 And when the wicked shall depart from his wickedness, and shall do judgments, and justice: be shall live in them.


And I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle out of the place where I had hid it: and behold the girdle was rotten, so that it was fit for no use.


0 Scale down the walls thereof, and throw them down, but do not utterly destroy: take away the branches thereof, because they are not the Lord's.


0 And I said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, hast thou then deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying: You shall have peace: and behold the sword reacheth even to the soul?


Who hath wrought and done these things, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, I am the first and the last.


Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me wholly round about, and dost thou thus cast me down headlong on a sudden?


3 If he scourge, let him kill at once, and not laugh at the pains of the innocent.

Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee : and thy justice may help the son of man.


5 Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox.


2 One thing there is that I have spoken, both the innocent and the wicked he consumeth.
