3 Is any of you sad? Let him pray. Is he cheerful in mind? Let him sing.


1 I spoke to thee in thy properity: and thoiu saidst: I will not hear: this hath been thy way from thy youth, because thou hast not heard my voice.


The woman shall come to him before the ancients, and shall take off his shoe from his foot, and spit in his face, and say: So shall it be done to the man that will not build up his brother's house:


5 The eye of the adulterer observeth darkness, saying: No eye shall see me: and he will cover his face.


7 If the morning suddenly appear, it is to them the shadow of death: and they walk in darkness as if it were in light.


3 God hath given him place for penance, and he abuseth it unto pride: but his eyes are upon his ways.


And it shall come to pass in that day, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall grow lean.
