3 And he had seven sons, and three daughters.


And the Lord said: Dost thou think thou hast reason to be angry?

9 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.


Trust not in lying words, saying: The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, it is the temple of the Lord.


1 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth her seed to shoot forth: so shall the Lord God make justice to spring forth, and praise before all the nations.


4 And I became as a man that heareth not : and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.


2 And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.


4 And he came to the king, and said to him: Behold thy servant's sheep are shorn. Let the king, I pray, with his servants come to his servant.


After this Job opened his mouth, and cursed his day,


And Athach going out went to Mardochai, who was standing in the street of the city, before the palace gate:


He gave him also a copy of the edict which was hanging up in Susan, that he should shew it to the queen, and admonish her to go in to the king, and to en- treat him for her people.
