If we begin to speak to thee, perhaps thou wilt take it ill, but who can withhold the words he hath conceived?


5 He. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath inebriated me with wormwood.


7 Vau. And my soul is removed far off from peace, I have forgotten good things.

4 Therefore, behold I will allure her, and will lead her into the wilderness: and I will speak to her heart.


6 Make straight the path for thy feet, and all thy ways shall be established.

4 And I will scatter them as stubble, which is carried away by the wind in the desert.


Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their blasphemies.


1 My harp is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of those that weep.


2 And I sent before you hornets: and I drove them out from their places, the two kings of the Amorrhites, not with thy sword nor with thy bow.


Others like wild asses in the desert go forth to their work: by watching for a prey they get bread for their children.


3 He. He hath shot into my reins the daughters of his quiver.


7 He put on justice as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head: he put on the garments of vengeance, and was clad with zeal as with a cloak.


6 And it shall be in that day, saith the Lord, That she shall call me : My husband, and she shall call me no more Baali.
