Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war.


6 Thy wrath hath come upon me: and thy terrors have troubled me.


5 He struck the rock in the wilderness: and gave them to drink, as out of the great deep.


And they said to Samuel: Cease not to cry to the Lord our God for us, that he may save us out of the hand of the Philistines.


5 And when ye see the south wind blow, you say: There will be heat: and it cometh to pass.


I have laboured with crying; my jaws are become hoarse: my eyes have failed, whilst I hope in my God.


3 Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:


In Jerusalem also Josaphat appointed Levites, and priests and chiefs of the families of Israel, to judge the judgment and the cause of the Lord for the inhabitants thereof.


And when Abia had begun battle, and had with him four hundred thou- sand most valiant and chosen men, Jeroboam put his army in array against him, eight hundred thousand men, who were also chosen and most valiant for war.


2 In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.


7 I will shew thee, hear me : and I mill tell thee what I have seen.


8 Thou shalt decree a thing, and it I shall come to thee, and light shall shine in thy ways.


Now also my words are in bitterness, and the hand of my scourge is more grievous than my mourning.


Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?


2 But the wheat, and other winter corn were not hurt, because they were lateward.


9 Ain. My eye is afflicted, and hath not been quiet, because there was no rest:
