4 So Moses came and spoke all the words of this canticle in the ears of the people, and Josue the son of Nun.


9 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glory? Are not you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?


1 Now he that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and that hath anointed us, is God:


5 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.


8 And in that day I will make a covenant with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air, and with the creeping things of the earth: and I will destroy the bow, and the sword, and war out of the land: and I will make them sleep secure.


3 But these three men, that is, Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell down bound in the midst of the furnace of burning fire.


For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me.


0 they have shut up their fat: their mouth hath spoken proudly.


0 Just is my help from the Lord: who saveth the upright of heart.


The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.


4 And he called the names of one Dies, and the name of the second Cassia, and the name of the third Cornustibil.


0 Let thistles grow up to me instead of wheat, and thorns instead of barley.


9 If I have despised him that was perishing for want of clothing, and the poor man that had no covering:


1 For this is a heinous crime, and a most grievous iniquity.


5 And therefore I am troubled at his presence, and when I consider him I am made pensive with fear.


7 But for a testimony between us and you, and our posterity and yours, that we may serve the Lord, and that we may have a right to offer both holocausts, and victims and sacrifices of peace offerings: and that your children to morrow may not say to our children: You have no part in the Lord.


7 For he shall crush me in a whirlwind, and multiply my wounds even without cause.


6 They have passed by as ships carrying fruits, as an eagle flying to the prey.


7 If I say: I will not speak so: I change my face, and am tormented with sorrow.


0 Shall not the fewness of my days be ended shortly? suffer me, therefore, that I may lament my sorrow a little:


The measure of him is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.


3 How many are my iniquities and sins? make me know my crimes and offences.


The flood divideth from the people that are on their journey, those whom the food of the needy man hath forgotten, and who cannot be come at.


Then Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said : I am younger in days, and you are more ancient; therefore hanging down my head, I was afraid to shew you my opinion.


5 By a dream in a vision by night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, and they are sleeping in their beds :


5 Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox.


6 God hath softened my heart, and the Almighty hath troubled me.


1 This people have I formed for my- self, they shall shew forth my praise.


But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.
