6 And I will deliver them into the hand of them that seek their lives, into the hand of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the Lord.


3 And upon Cariathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmaon,


5 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to save themselves.


7 Therefore behold the days come, and I will visit the idols of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.


8 And cried, seeing the place of her burning, saying: What city is like to this great city?


But you have departed out of the way, and have caused many to stumble at the law: you have made void the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.


The shield of his mighty men is like fire, the men of the army are clad in scarlet, the reins of the chariot are flaming in the day of his preparation, and the drivers are stupefied.


And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will protect it.


3 And there shall be still a tithing therein, and she shall turn, and shall be made a show as a turpentine tree, and as an oak that spreadeth its branches: that which shall stand therein, shall be a holy seed.


I am the Lord, and there is none else: there is no God, besides me: I girded thee, and thou hast not known me:


1 What wilt thou say when he shall visit thee? for thou hast taught them against thee, and instructed them against thy own head: shall not sorrows lay hold on thee, as a woman in labour?


8 A drought upon her waters, and they shall be dried up: because it is a land of idols, and they glory in monstrous things.


1 I will accept of you for an odour of sweetness, when I shall have brought you out from the people, and shall have gathered you out of the lands into which you are scattered, and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.


They are dreadful, and terrible: from themselves shall their judgment, and their burden proceed.
