4 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry: and sprinkle yourselves with ashes, ye leaders of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and your dispersion are accomplished, and you shall fall like precious vessels.


The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, the rod of the rulers,


3 And Asor shall be a habitation for dragons, desolate for ever: no man shall abide there, nor son of man inhabit it.


Baltasar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his nobles: and every one drank according to his age.


0 And the king answered, and said: Is not this the great Babylon, which I have built to be the seat of the kingdom, by the strength of my power, and in the glory of my excellence?


6 Then king Nabuchodonosor fell on his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer in sacrifice to him victims and incense.


Therefore behold, I will bring upon thee strangers the strongest of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy beauty.


5 Go out of the midst of her, my people: that every man may save his life from the fierce wrath of the Lord.


Babylon is suddenly fallen, and destroyed: howl for her, take balm for her pain, if so she may be healed.


1 Behold I come against thee, O proud one, saith the Lord the God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time of thy visitation.


2 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? how art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations?


And he built Palmira in the desert, and he built other strong cities in Emath.


2 The blast shall consume all the trees and the fruits of thy ground.
