5 Moab is laid waste, and they have cast down her cities: and her choice young men are gone down to the slaughter: saith the king, whose name is the Lord of hosts.


5 They that fled from the snare stood in the shadow of Hesebon: but there came a fire out of Kesebon, and a flame out of the midst of Seen, and it shall devour part of Moab. and the crown of the head of the children of tumult.


SEND forth, O Lord, the lamb, the ruler of the earth, from Petra of the desert, to the mount of the daughter of Sion.


Baldness is come upon Gaza: Ascalon hath held her peace with the remnant of their valley: how long shalt thou cut thyself?


6 Say ye to the nations: Behold it is heard in Jerusalem, that guards are coming from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Juda.


8 And he said: Let him alone, let no man move his bones. So his bones were left untouched with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.

And they sat down upon garments laid to pledge by every altar: and drank the wine of the condemned in the house of their God.


6 When he uttereth his voice the waters are multiplied in heaven: he lifteth up the clouds from the ends of the earth, he hath turned lightning into rain: and hath brought forth the wind out of his treasures.


If grapegatherers had come to thee, would they not have left a bunch? if thieves in the night, they would have taken what was enough for them.


8 Leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, you that dwell in Moab: and be ye Iike the dove that maketh her nest in the mouth of the hole in the highest place.


0 Cursed be he that doth the work of the Lord deceitfully: and cursed be he that withholdeth his sword from blood.


Trust not in lying words, saying: The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, it is the temple of the Lord.


4 Howl, O ye ships of the sea, for your strength is laid waste.


The Lord of hosts hath designed it, to pull down the pride of all glory, and bring to disgrace all the glorious ones of the earth.


THE burden of Damascus. Behold Damascus shall cease to be a city, and shall be as a ruinous heap of stones.


According to the greatness of their work, is their visitation also: they shall lead them to the torrent of the willows.


4 And they shall be as a doe fleeing away, and as a sheep: and there shall be none to gather them together: every man shall turn to his own people, and every one shall flee to his own land.

And Josue said: Alas, O Lord God, why wouldst thou bring this people over the river Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorrhite, and to destroy us? would God, we had stayed beyond the Jordan as we began.


Till they pursuing us be drawn farther from the city: for they will think that we flee as before.


And David sent to Joab, saying: Send me Urias the Hethite. And Joab sent Urias to David.
