1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:


9 The general took away the pitchers, and the censers, and the pots, and the basins, and the candlesticks, and the mortars, and the cups: as many as were of gold, in gold: and as many as were of silver, in silver:


2 But of the poor of the land he left some dressers of vines and husbandmen.


6 And he said to the lad that guided his steps: Suffer me to touch the pillars which support the whole house, and let me lean upon them, and rest a little.


5 I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways.


2 And thou, O Lord of hosts, prover of the just, who seest the reins and the heart: let me see, I beseech thee, thy vengeance on them: for to thee I have laid open my cause.


1 But afterwards they turned: and brought back again their servants and their handmaids, whom they had let go free, and brought them into subjection as menservants and maidservants.


Prepare ye the shield and buckler, and go forth to battle.
