24 2 And Jeremias took another volume, and gave it to Baruch the son of Nerias the scribe: who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremias all the words of the book which Joakim the king of Juda had burnt with fire: and there were added besides many more words than had been before.

4 And the king and all his servants that heard all these words were not afraid, nor did they rend their garments.


They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure.


And the Lord said: Dost thou think thou hast reason to be angry?

6 Through the forbearance of God, for the shewing of his justice in this time; that he himself may be just, and the justifier of him, who is of the faith of Jesus Christ.


9 And stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said: Behold my mother and my brethren.


1 For the house of Israel, and the house of Juda have greatly transgressed against me, saith the Lord.


9 Thy dead men shall live, my slain shall rise again: awake, and give praise, ye that dwell in the dust: for thy dew is the dew of the light: and the land of the giants thou shalt pull down into ruin.


What knowest thou that we are ignorant of? what dost thou understand that we know not?


0 And rending his garments he went to his brethren, and said: The boy doth not appear and whither shall I go?


5 And alibis children being gathered together to comfort their father in his sorrow, he would not receive comfort, but said: I will go down to my son into hell, mourning. And whilst he continued weeping,


6 And David said to him: Thy blood be upon thy own head: for thy own mouth hath spoken against thee, saying: I have slain the Lord's anointed.


And he heard say about Tharaca the king of Ethiopia: He is come forth to fight against thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Ezechias, saying:


5 And seven days were fully ended, after that the Lord struck the river.


For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light.
