3 The glory of Libanus shall come to thee, the Ar tree, and the box tree, and the pine tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary: and I will glorify the place of my feet.


9 The cities of the south are shut up, and there is none to open them: all Juda is carried away captive with an entire captivity.


I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the Gentiles there is not a man with me: I have trampled on them in my indignation, and have trodden them down in my wrath, and their blood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my apparel.


I commanded Hanani my brother, and Hananias ruler of the house of Jerusalem, (for he seemed as a sincere man, and one that feared God above the rest,)


They shall eat the sins of my people, and shall lift up their souls to their iniquity.


2 And they shall come, and shall give praise in mount Sion: and they shall flow together to the good things of the Lord, for the corn, and wine, and oil, and the increase of cattle and herds, and their soul shall be as a watered garden, and they shall be hungry no more.


4 But as for me, behold I am in your hands: do with me what is good and right in your eyes:


And he said: Surely they are my people, children that will not deny: so he became their saviour.


0 I have not hid thy justice within my heart : I have declared thy truth and thy salvation. I have not concealed thy mercy and thy truth from a great council.


0 And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn.


6 As for the word which thou hast spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken to thee:


For they prophesy falsely to you in my name: and I have not sent them, saith the Lord.


5 We shall sleep in our confusion, and our shame shall cover us, because we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers from our youth even to this day, and we have not hearkened to the voice of theLord our God.


So the Jews made a great slaughter of their enemies, and killed them, repaying according to what they had prepared to do to them:


4 But the rest of the acts of Josaphat, first and last, are written in the words of Jehu the son of Hanani, which he digested into the books of the kings of Israel.


Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.


The Lord God, who gathereth the scattered of Israel, saith: I will still gather unto him his congregation.


2 And they shall call them, The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord. But thou shalt be called: A city sought after, and not forsaken.


0 The city of thy sanctuary is become a desert, Sion is made a desert, Jerusalem is desolate.


And thou shalt swear: As the Lord liveth, in truth, and in judgement, and in justice: and the Gentiles shall bless him, and shall praise him.


0 And I said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, hast thou then deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying: You shall have peace: and behold the sword reacheth even to the soul?


For he shall be like tamaric in the desert, and he shall not see when good shall come: but he shall dwell in dryness in the desert in a salt land, and not inhabited.


And the Lord hath sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising early, and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ears to hear.


Behold I will close their wounds and give them health, and I will cure them: and I will reveal to them the prayer of peace and truth.


2 As the stars of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea be measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites my ministers.


3 And Asor shall be a habitation for dragons, desolate for ever: no man shall abide there, nor son of man inhabit it.


Fine broidered linen from Egypt was woven for thy sail, to be spread on thy mast: blue and purple from the islands of Elisa, were made thy covering.


1 And I will set my glory among the nations: and all nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.


0 Yet so if thou hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and keep his precepts and ceremonies, which are written in this law: and return to the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul.


AND now hear, O Jacob, my servant, and Israel whom I have chosen.


For they that gather it, shall eat it, and shall praise the Lord: and they that bring it together, shall drink it in my holy courts.


2 How long wilt thou be dissolute in deliciousness, O wandering daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing upon the earth: A WOMAN SHALL COMPASS A MAN.


Thus saith the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will send spirit into you, and you shall live.


And he said to him: Run, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, by reason of the multitude of men, and of the beasts in the midst thereof.
