8 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what great things I will do to them.


1 That the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremias might be fulfilled, and the land might keep her sabbaths: for all the days of the desolation she kept a sabbath, till the seventy years were expired.


And when the prince of pastors shall appear, you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.


2 And I beseech you, brethren, that you suffer this word of consolation. For I have written to you in a few words.


5 Women received their dead raised to life again. But others were racked, not accepting deliverance, that they might find a better resurrection.


3 And as he was saying these things to them, the Pharisees and the lawyers began violently to urge him, and to oppress his mouth about many things,


6 Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year shalt thou die: for thou hast spoken against the Lord.


5 Cursed be the man that brought the tidings to my father, saying: A man child is born to thee: and made him greatly rejoice.


If that nation against which I have spoken, shall repent of their evil, I also will repent of the evil that I have thought to do to them.


7 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem?


4 Thus saith the Lord the God of hosts: Because you have spoken this word, behold I will make my words in thy mouth as fire, and this people as wood, and it shall devour them.


Shall I not visit for these things, sayeth the Lord? and shall not my soul take revenge on such a nation?


8 Why is my sorrow become perpetual, and my wound desperate so as to refuse to be healed? it is become to me as the falsehood of deceitful waters that cannot be trusted.


Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have thee sons and daughters in this place.


1 Then shall his spirit be changed, and he shall pass, and fall: this is his strength of his god.


Nevertheless he stuck to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin, nor did he depart from them.


2 I will declare thy justice, and thy works shall not profit thee.
