1 They have laid it waste, and it hath mourned for me. With desolation is all the land made desolate; because there is none that considereth in the heart.


5 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, by reason of the confusion of the roaring of the sea and of the waves;


Inquire of the Lord for us, for Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon maketh war against us: if so be the Lord will deal with us according to all his wonderful works, that he may depart from us.


4 And it shall come to pass: if you will hearken to me, saith the Lord, to bring in no burdens by the gates of this city on the sabbath day: and if you will sanctify the sabbath day, to do no work therein:


7 And shall we also be disobedient and do all this great evil to transgress against our God, and marry strange women?


0 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.


6 Let that man be as the cities that the Lord hath overthrown, and hath not repented: let him hear a cry in the morning, and howling at noontide:


1 By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee.


1 And the water covered them that afflicted them: there was not one of them left.


And Sanaballat sent his servant to me the fifth time according to the former word, and he had a letter in his hand written in this manner:


And a voice came out from the throne, saying: Give praise to our God, all ye his servants; and you that fear him, little and great.

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the elect of God and the acknowledging of the truth, which is according to godliness:


0 For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us. For Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God.


Render therefore to all men their dues. Tribute, to whom tribute is due: custom, to whom custom: fear, to whom fear: honour, to whom honour.


They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard.


8 Why is my sorrow become perpetual, and my wound desperate so as to refuse to be healed? it is become to me as the falsehood of deceitful waters that cannot be trusted.


1 I said: I shall not see the Lord God in the land of the living. I shall behold man no more, nor the inhabitant of rest.


Who forgiveth all thy iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases.


then said I, Behold I come. In the head of the book it is written of me

2 Thou hast granted me life and mercy, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

9 And they praised him also before me, and they related my words to him: And Tobias sent letters to put me in fear.

The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord, when king Sedecias sent unto him Phassur, the son of Melchias, and Sophonias, the son of Maasias the priest, saying:


And I will make this city an astonishent, and a hissing: every one that shall pass by it, shall be astonished, and shall hiss because of all the plagues thereof.


Vau. And the iniquity of the daughter of my people is made greater than the sin of Sodom, which was overthrown in a moment, and hands took nothing in her.


Heth. Their face is now made blacker than coals, and they are not known in the streets: their skin hath stuck to their bones, it is withered, and is become like wood.
