3 They shall offer victims, they shall sacrifice flesh, and shall eat it, and the Lord will not receive them: now will he remember their iniquity, and will visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.


1 Speak to the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will profane my sanctuary, the glory of your realm, and the thing that your eyes de sire, and for which your soul feareth: your sons, and your daughters, whom you have left, shall fall by the sword.


Destruction is come upon thee that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of slaughter is near, and not of the joy of mountains.


5 And you shall leave your name for an execration to my elect: and the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name.


0 And they shall eat and shall not be filled: they have committed fornication, and have not ceased: because they have forsaken the Lord in not observing his law.


And I prophesied as he had commanded me: and as I prophesied there was a noise, and behold a commotion: and the bones came together, each one to its joint.


9 Because they have hated instruction and received not the fear of the Lord,


And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle.


3 But who art thou that judgest thy neighbour? Behold, now you that say: To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and there we will spend a year, and will traffic, and make our gain.


For we rejoice that we are weak, and you are strong. This also we pray for, your perfection.


0 For the sorrow that is according to God worketh penance, steadfast unto salvation; but the sorrow of the world worketh death.


9 Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.


Because then I will restore to the people a chosen lip, that all may call upon the name of the Lord, and may serve him with one shoulder.


0 And the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, that is without measure, and shall not be numbered. And it shall be in the place where it shall be said to them: You are not my people: it shall be said to them: Ye are the sons of the living God.


3 Thus saith the Lord God: In the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities, and shall cause the cities to be inhabited, and shall repair the ruinous places,


4 I the Lord have spoken: it shall come to pass, and I will do it: I will not pass by, nor spare, nor be pacified: I will judge thee according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, saith the Lord.


6 As I pleaded against your fathers in the desert of the land of Egypt; even so will I judge you, saith the Lord God.


Behold I have made thy face stronger than their faces: and thy forehead harder than their foreheads.


5 For thus saith the High and the Eminent that inhabiteth eternity: and his name is Holy, who dwelleth in the high and holy place, and with a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


1 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are vain.


4 Return, O ye revolting children, saith the Lord: for I am your husband: and I will take you, one of a city, and two of a kindred, and will bring you into Sion.


5 Until justice be turned into judgment: and they that are near it are all the upright in heart.


3 And there shall be no remains of them: for I will bring in evil upon the men of Anathoth, the year of their visitation.


1 Because thou hast built thy brothel house at the head of every way, and thou hast made thy high place in every street: and wast not as a harlot that by disdain enhanceth her price,


0 And I said to them: The word of the Lord came to me, saying:
