1 Let all bitterness, and anger, and indignation, and clamour, and blasphemy, be put away from you, with all malice.


6 Who answering, said: It is not good to take the bread of the children, and to cast it to the dogs.


For we, who have believed, shall enter into rest; as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath; If they shall enter into my rest; and this indeed when the works from the foundation of the world were finished.


8 Who say to Cyrus: Thou art my shepherd, and thou shalt perform all my pleasure. Who say to Jerusalem: Thou shalt be built: and to the temple: Thy foundations shall be laid.


1 I find then a law, that when I have a will to do good, evil is present with me.


For the lips of a harlot are like a honeycomb dropping, and her throat is smoother than oil.


6 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.


9 For the good which I will, I do not; but the evil which I will not, that I do.

8 Then Jesus answering, said to her: O woman, great is thy faith: be it done to thee as thou wilt: and her daughter was cured from that hour.


And God seeing that the wickedness of men was great on the earth, and that all the thought of their heart was bent upon evil at all times,


1 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour, and said: I will no more curse the earth for the sake of man: for the imagination and thought of man's heart are prone to evil from his youth: therefore I will no more destroy every living soul as I have done.


Return, O Israel, to the Lord thy God: for thou hast fallen down by thy iniquity.


And the woman saw that the tree was good to eat, and fair to the eyes, and delightful to behold: and she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave to her husband who did eat.


But Urias slept before the gate of the king's house, with the other servants of his lord, and went not down to his own house.


And said to him: All these will I give thee, if falling down thou wilt adore me.


2 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.


4 For he beheld himself, and went his way, and presently forgot what manner of man he was.
