And he said: Surely they are my people, children that will not deny: so he became their saviour.


Neither shall thy name be called any more Abram: but thou shalt be called Abraham: because I have made thee a father of many nations.


6 And he that shall overcome, and keep my works unto the end, I will give him power over the nations.


0 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all nations for a gift to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and on mules, and in coaches, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as if the children of Israel should bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.


3 My elect shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth in trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their posterity with them.


The Lord God hath opened my ear, and I do not resist: I have not gone back.


5 God said also to Abraham: Sarai thy wife thou shalt not call Sarai, but Sara.


2 And they shall call them, The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord. But thou shalt be called: A city sought after, and not forsaken.


And when he had apprehended him, he cast him into prison, delivering him to four files of soldiers to be kept, intending, after the pasch, to bring him forth to the people.


And which came to him in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, unto the end of the eleventh year of Sedecias the son of Josias king of Juda, even unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive, in the fifth month.


Upon thy wails, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen all the day, and all the night, they shall never hold their peace. You that are mindful of the Lord, hold not your peace,


Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not.


4 And Sion said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.


9 Jacob asked him, Tell me by what name art thou called? He answered: Why dost thou ask my name? And he blessed him in the same place.


Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.


4 Hast thou not seen what this people hath spoken, saying: The two families which the Lord had chosen, are cast off: and they have despised my people, so that it is no more a nation before them?


To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God: to comfort all that mourn:


In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.


1 And when they were gone aside, they spoke among themselves, saying: This man hath done nothing worthy of death or of bands.


3 And when many days were passed, the Jews consulted together to kill him.


9 Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory.


1 To him that shall overcome, I will give to sit with me in my throne: as I also have overcome, and am set down with my Father in his throne.


at the presence of the Lord: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with equity.


And many people shall go, and say: Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall come forth from Sion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.


0 Let us have pity on the wicked, but he will not learn justice: in the land of the saints he hath done wicked things, and he shall not see the glory of the Lord.


5 I am the Lord your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.


THE just perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart, and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil.


9 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send of them that shall be saved, to the Gentiles into the sea, into Africa, and Lydia them that draw the bow: into Italy, and Greece, to the islands afar off, to them that have not heard of me, and have not seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory to the Gentiles:


7 For thus saith the Lord: There shall not be cut off from David a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel.


The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength: Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thy enemies: and the sons of the strangers shall not drink thy wine, for which thou hast laboured.
