Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters, in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:


1 That made men sin by word, and supplanted him that reproved them in the gate, and declined in vain from the just.


3 I am come in the name of my Father, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.


2 And the seven all took her in like manner; and did not leave issue. Last of all the woman also died.


8 And he beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head in a dish: and gave it to the damsel, and the damsel gave it to her mother.


Men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every soul, which Nabuzardan the general had left with Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan, and Jeremias the prophet, and Baruch the son of Nerias.


0 If you will be quiet and remain in this land, I will build you up, and not pull you down: I will plane you, and not pluck you up: for now I am appeased for the evil that I have done to you.


5 All the days of the poor are evil: a secure mind is like a continual feast.


7 To him therefore who knoweth to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin.


2 Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.


4 I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications.


58 I beheld the transgressors, and I pined away; because they kept not thy word.


2 When you came to appear before me, who required these things at your hands, that you should walk in my courts?


O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.


1 For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied, and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? for I am silent, and as one that seeth not, and thou hast forgotten me.


0 But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire.


1 This is my covenant with them, saith the Lord: My spirit that is in thee, and my words that I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.


7 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem?


8 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to offer libations to strange gods, and to provoke me to anger.


For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I have given Egypt for thy atonement, Ethiopia and Saba for thee.


1 And I gave them my statutes, and I shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them.


6 But you carried a tabernacle for your Moloch, and the image of your idols, the star of your god, which you made to yourselves.
