9 Shall I not visit for these things, saith the Lord? or shall not my soul take revenge on such a nation?


Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.


When Jesus therefore had lifted up his eyes, and seen that a very great multitude cometh to him, he said to Philip: Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?


1 Amen, amen I say to you: If any man keep my word, he shall not see death for ever.


8 And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and out of darkness and obscurity the eyes of the blind shall see.


Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and patience, and longsuffering? Knowest thou not, that the benignity of God leadeth thee to penance?


And in that day I will break in pieces the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezrahel.


2 In the joy of the just there is great glory: when the wicked reign, men are ruined.


1 To what purpose do you offer me the multitude of your victims, saith the Lord? I am full, I desire not holocausts of rams, and fat of fatlings, and blood of calves, and lambs, and buck goats.


2 Behold the sound of a noise cometh, a great commotion out of the land of the north: to make the cities of Juda a desert, and a dwelling for dragons.


8 Who say to Cyrus: Thou art my shepherd, and thou shalt perform all my pleasure. Who say to Jerusalem: Thou shalt be built: and to the temple: Thy foundations shall be laid.


4 And passing through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia.


Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who are carried by my bowels, are borne up by my womb.


2 The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold a greater than Solomon here.


Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.


6 The portion of Jacob is not like these: for it is he who formed all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the Lord of hosts is his name.


Upon a high and lofty mountain thou hast laid thy bed, and hast gone up thither to offer victims.


3 They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.


7 But the residue thereof he made a god, and a graven thing for himself: he boweth down before it, and adoreth it, and prayeth unto it, saying: Deliver me, for thou art my God.


Behold this second epistle I write to you, my dearly beloved, in which I stir up by way of admonition your sincere mind:


9 Thy dead men shall live, my slain shall rise again: awake, and give praise, ye that dwell in the dust: for thy dew is the dew of the light: and the land of the giants thou shalt pull down into ruin.


7 Who say to the deep: Be thou desolate, and I will dry up thy rivers.


5 Behold I come against thee, thou destroying mountain, saith the Lord, which corruptest the whole earth: and I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.


And a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and strength to them that return out of the battle to the gate.


0 Say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: This burden concerneth my prince that is in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel, that are among them.
