An ancient man rebuke not, but entreat him as a father: young men, as brethren:


Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.


Wine is a luxurious thing, and drunkenness riotous: whosoever is delighted therewith shell not be wise.


5 Which in his times he shall shew who is the Blessed and only Mighty, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;


6 And I have found a woman more bitter than death, who is the hunter's snare, and her heart is a net, and her hands are bands. He that pleaseth God shall escape from her: but he that is a sinner, shall be caught by her.


4 Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable.


And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns.


4 He shall quickly come that is going to open unto you, and he shall not kill unto utter destruction, neither shall his bread fail.


9 Wisdom hath strengthened the wise more than ten princes of the city.


He that turneth away his ears from hearing the law, his prayer shall be as abomination.


3 A man rejoiceth in the sentence of his mouth: and a word in due time is best.


I have cried to the, O Lord, hear me: hearken to my voice, when I cry to thee.


1 And the king shall greatly desire thy beauty; for he is the Lord thy God, and him they shall adore.


Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and of the spirit, perfecting sactification in the fear of God.


1 A fool uttereth all his mind: a wise man deferreth, and keepeth it till afterwards.


2 Because they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant: all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, they would not hear nor do.


3 In the heart of the prudent resteth wisdom, and it shall instruct all the ignorant.

5 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified and praised.


2 Thus saith thy Sovereign the Lord and thy God, who will fight for his people: Behold I have taken out of thy hand the cup of dead sleep, the dregs of the cup of my indignation, thou shalt not drink it again any more.


1 The tiger hath perished for want of prey, and the young lions are scattered abroad.


2 That thou mayst be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh perverse things:


1 He that oppresseth the poor, upbraideth his Maker: but he that hath pity on the poor, honoureth him.


The Lord is magnified, for he hath dwelt on high: he hath filled Sion with judgment and justice.


And there shall be faith in thy times: riches of salvation, wisdom and knowledge: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.


At that time the army of the king o Babylon besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremias the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Juda.


O Lord, I have heard thy hearing, and was afraid. O Lord, thy work, in the midst of the years bring it to life: In the midst of the years thou shalt make it known: when thou art angry, thou wilt remember mercy.
