5 And he said to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and nations, and tongues.


He is near that justifieth me, who will contend with me? let us stand together, who is my adversary? let him come near to me.


2 And the Lord shall strike Egypt with a scourge, and shall heal it, and they shall return to the Lord, and he shall be pacified towards them, and heal them.


9 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not lay hands on me. But that the scriptures may be fulfilled.


3 Thinkest thou that I cannot ask my Father, and he will give me presently more than twelve legions of angels?


3 Thy eyes are too pure to behold evil, and thou canst not look on iniquity. Why lookest thou upon them that do unjust things, and holdest thy peace when the wicked devoureth the man that is more just than himself?


Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities.


5 He that made the earth by his power, that hath prepared the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.


5 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to save themselves.


7 They say tothem that blaspheme me: The Lord hath said: You shall have peace: and to every one that walketh in the perverseness of his own heart, they have said: No evil shall come to you.


0 Of old time thou hast broken my yoke, thou hast burst my bands, and thou saidst: I will not serve. For on every high hill, and under every green tree thou didst prostitute thyself.


Shake thyself from the dust, arise, sit up, O Jerusalem: loose the bonds from off thy neck, O captive daughter of Sion.


8 And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and out of darkness and obscurity the eyes of the blind shall see.


0 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom, give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrha.


Be astonished, and wander, waver, and stagger: be drunk, and not with wine: stagger, and not with drunkenness.


In the parts of the torrent is thy portion, this is thy lot: and thou hast poured out libations to them, thou hast offered sacrifice. Shall I not be angry at these things?


4 As a beast that goeth down in the field, the spirit of the Lord was their leader: so didst thou lead thy people to make thyself a glorious name.
