And behold six men came from the way of the upper gate, which looketh to the north: and each one had his weapon of destruction in his hand: and there was one man in the midst of them clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn at his reins: and they went in, and stood by the brazen altar.


The former things of old I have declared, and they went forth out of my mouth, and I have made them to be heard: I did them suddenly and they came to pass.


For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children, children that will not hear the law of God.


Shall a man afflict God? for you afflict me. And you have said: Wherein do we afflict thee? in tithes and in firstfruits.


Before the decree bring forth the day as dust passing away, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's indignation come upon you.


And when he had commanded the man that was clothed with linen, saying: Take fire from the midst of the wheels that are between the cherubims: he went in and stood beside the wheel,


2 Behold I am against the prophets that have lying dreams, saith the Lord: and tell them, and cause my people to err by their lying, and by their wonders: when I sent them not, nor commanded them, who have not profited this people at all, saith the Lord.


3 Give ear, and hear my voice, hearken, and hear my speech.


4 They shall return at evening and shall suffer hunger like dogs: and shall go round about the city.


8 So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.


1 For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake; that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our mortal flesh.


4 I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children.


0 But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire.


8 But indeed for deceits thou hast put it to them: when they were lifted up thou hast cast them down.


Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.


7 John answered, and said: A man cannot receive any thing, unless it be given him from heaven.


5 Will he not, when he hath made plain the surface thereof, sow gith, and scatter cummin, and put wheat in order, and barley, and millet, and vetches in their bounds?


0 Who perished at Endor: and became as dung for the earth.


6 And he brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord: and behold at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men having their backs towards the temple of the Lord, and their faces to the east: and they adored towards the rising of the sun.


0 The princes of Juda are become as they that take up the bound: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.


And David's anger being exceedingly kindled against that man, he said to Nathan: As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this is a child of death.


4 And they hearkened not, but hardened their necks like to the neck of their fathers, who would not obey the Lord their God.
