For itself also is the invention of Israel: a workman made it, and it is no god: for the calf of Samaria shall be turned to spiders' webs.


It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.


Before the face thereof a devouring fire, and behind it a burning flame: the land is like a garden of pleasure before it, and behind it a desolate wilderness, neither is there any one that can escape it.


1 Carioth is taken, and the strong holds are won: and the heart of the valiant men of Moab in that day shall be as the heart of a woman in labour.


WOE to thee that spoilest, shalt not thou thyself also be spoiled? and thou that despisest, shalt not thyself also be despised? when thou shalt have made an end of spoiling, thou shalt be spoiled: when being wearied thou shalt cease to despise, thou shalt be despised.


And it shall come to pass in that day, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall grow lean.


I will send him to a deceitful nation, and I will give him a charge against the people of my wrath, to take away the spoils, and to lay hold on the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.


The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.


3 She hath sought wool and flax, and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands.


And they shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and shall declare thy greatness.


0 Thus saith the Lord to his people, that have loved to move their feet, and have not rested, and have not pleased the Lord: He will now remember their iniquities, and visit their sins.


0 Egypt is like a fair and beautiful heifer: there shall come from the north one that shall goad her.


0 Yea and the beasts of the field have looked up to thee, as a garden bed that thirsteth after rain, for the springs of waters are dried up, and fire hath devoured the beautiful places of the wilderness.


8 And my people shall sit in the beauty of peace, and in the tabernacles of confidence, and in wealthy rest.
