2 I will declare thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the church will I praise thee.


2 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you:


And he answering, said to them: Do you see all these things? Amen I say to you there shall not be left here a stone upon a stone that shall not be destroyed.


For by the ascent of Luith shall the mourner go up with weeping: for in the descent of Oronaim the enemies have heard a howling of destruction.


5 Will he not, when he hath made plain the surface thereof, sow gith, and scatter cummin, and put wheat in order, and barley, and millet, and vetches in their bounds?


1 Shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?


That I might know the words that he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.


5 Why have you detracted the words of truth, whereas there is none of you that can reprove me?


How can I be merciful to thee? thy children have forsaken me, and swear by them that are not gods: I fed them to the full, and they committed adultery, and rioted in the harlot's house.


But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.


5 Why criest thou for thy affliction? thy sorrow is incurable: for the multitude of thy iniquity, and for thy hardened sins I have done these things to thee.


They shall come with weeping: and I will bring them back in mercy: and I will bring them through the torrents of waters in a right way, and they shall not stumble in it: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
