But draw near hither, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer, and of the harlot.


For all tables were full of vomit and filth, so that there was no more place.


1 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people according to the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.


And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne.


2 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of the Lord, by which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with the burning heat?


0 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,


Then a herald cried with a strong voice: To you it is commanded, O nations, tribes, and languages:


3 And whereas thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall be mingled indeed together with the seed of man, but they shall not stick fast one to another, as iron cannot be mixed with clay.


And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:


Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: O because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.


6 O look upon me, and have mercy on me: give thy command to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.


3 And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hell gave up their dead that were in them; and they were judged every one according to their works.


1 They shall perish, but thou shalt continue: and they shall all grow old as a garment.


5 For David saith concerning him: I foresaw the Lord before my face: because he is at my right hand, that I may not be moved.


But unto you that fear my name, the Sun of justice shall arise, and health in his wings: and you shall go forth, and shall leap like calves of the herd.


And from the first year of Darius the Mede I stood up that he might be strengthened and confirmed.


6 This is the dream: we will also tell the interpretation thereof before thee, O king.


5 We shall sleep in our confusion, and our shame shall cover us, because we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers from our youth even to this day, and we have not hearkened to the voice of theLord our God.


For thus saith the Lord to me: Like as the lion roareth, and the lion's whelp upon his prey, and when a multitude of shepherds shall come against him, he will not fear at their voice, nor be afraid of their multitude: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight upon mount Sion, and upon the hill thereof.


But thou, O Lord art my protector, my glory, and the lifter up of my head.


9 Out of Jacob shall he come that shall rule, and shall destroy the remains of the city.


And thou, son of man, prophesy against Cog, and say: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against thee, O Cog, the chief prince of Mosoch and Thubal.


Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans: and be ye as kids at the head of the flock.


Flee and turn your backs, go down into the deep hole, ye inhabitants of Dedan: for I have brought the destruction of Esau upon him, the time of his visitation.


Behold I will bring them from the north country, and will gather them from the ends of the earth: and among them shall be the blind, and the lame, the woman with child, and she that is bringing forth, together, a great company of them returning hither.


8 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream: and he that hath my word, let him speak my word with truth: what hath the chaff to do with the wheat, saith the Lord?


4 And Sion said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.


5 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.


he hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name's sake.


Then Sophar the Naamathite answered, and said:


Gather yourselves together, and hear, O ye sons of Jacob, hearken to Israel your father:


Open ye the gates, and let the just nation, that keepeth the truth, enter in.


THE just perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart, and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil.


9 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people, and the voice of weeping shall no more be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.


For he shall be like tamaric in the desert, and he shall not see when good shall come: but he shall dwell in dryness in the desert in a salt land, and not inhabited.


Thus saith the Lord to me: Make thee bands, and chains: and thou shalt put them on thy neck.


0 Surely Ephraim is an honourable son to me, surely he is a tender child: for since I spoke of him, I will still remember him. Therefore are my bowels troubled for him: pitying I will pity him, saith the Lord.


2 Therefore behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will visit her graven things, and in all her land the wounded shall groan:


0 And the little chambers of the gate that looked eastward were three on this side, and three on that side: all three were of one measure, and the fronts of one measure, on both parts.


They shall eat the sins of my people, and shall lift up their souls to their iniquity.


And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: and even he shall be left to our God, and he shall be as a governor in Juda, and Accaron as a Jebusite.


7 And it shall come to pass, that he that shall not go up of the families of the land to Jerusalem, to adore the King, the Lord of hosts, there shall be no rain upon them.


8 And if the family of Egypt go not up nor come: neither shall it be upon them, but there shall be destruction wherewith the Lord will strike all nations that will not go up to keep the feast of tabernacles.


For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me.


We have received thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple.


4 They have seen thy goings, O God, the goings of my God: of my king who is in his sanctuary.


A canticle of a psalm for the sons of Core: unto the end, for Maheleth, to answer understanding of Eman the Ezrahite. O Lord, the God of my salvation: I have cried in the day, and in the night before thee.


Let my prayer come in before thee: incline thy ear to my petition.


Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all he hath done for thee.


1 And thy gates shall be open continually: they shall not be shut day nor night, that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought to thee, and their kings may be brought.


And the Lord said to me: Say not: I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee: and whatsoever I shall command thee, thou shalt speak.
