For Egypt shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this: It is pride only, sit still.


Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth in it shall languish with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air: yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be gathered together.


Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy face?


and I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.


4 Butter of the herd, and milk of the sheep with the fat of lambs, and of the rams of the breed of Basan: and goats with the marrow of wheat, and might drink the purest blood of the grape.


Upon thy wails, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen all the day, and all the night, they shall never hold their peace. You that are mindful of the Lord, hold not your peace,


For your double confusion and shame, they shall praise their part: therefore shall they receive double in their land, everlasting joy shall be unto them.


Receive them from them to serve in the ministry of the tabernacle, and thou shalt deliver them to the Levites according to the order of their ministry.

The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.


9 For this is thankworthy, if for conscience towards God, a man endure sorrows, suffering wrongfully.


9 Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and the domestics of God,


As David also termeth the blessedness of a man, to whom God reputeth justice without works:


As woody valleys, as watered gardens near the rivers, as tabernacles which the Lord hath pitched, as cedars by the waterside.


THE burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds come from the south, it cometh from the desert from a terrible land.


For all tables were full of vomit and filth, so that there was no more place.


2 Be converted to me, and you shall be saved, all ye ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is no other.


1 And the inhabitants go one to another, saying: Let us go, and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts: I also will go.


And we are all become as one unclean, and all our justices as the rag of a menstruous woman: and we have all fallen as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.


5 The lions have roared upon him, and have made a noise, they have made his land a wilderness: his cities are burnt down and there is none to dwell in them.


4 Correct me, O Lord, but yet with judgement: and not in fury, lest thou bring me to nothing.
