8 Thou hast been mad against me, and thy pride hath come up to my ears: therefore I will put a ring in thy nose, and a bit between thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way, by which thou camest.


And many nations shall pass by this city: and they shall say every man to his neighbor: Why hath the Lord done so to this great city?


Woe to the Assyrian, he is the rod and the staff of my anger, and my indignation is in their hands.


3 By the way that he came, he shall return: and into this city he shall not come, saith the Lord.


4 Therefore, thus saith the Lord the God of hosts: O my people that dwellest in Sion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall strike thee with his rod, and he shall lift up his staff over thee in the way of Egypt.


Behold they that see shall cry without, the angels of peace shall weep bitterly.


2 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a, remnant, and salvation from mount Sion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.


4 All the rest of the families, families and families apart, and their women apart.
