And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his own country: for the king of Babylon had taken all that had belonged to the king of Egypt, from the river of Egypt, unto the river Euphrates.


3 But the heart of this people is become hard of belief and provoking, they are revolted and gone away.


7 And I took the cup at the hand of the Lord, and I presented it to all the nations to drink of it, to which the Lord sent me:


With desolation shall the earth be laid waste, and it shall be utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.


2 O house of David, this saith the Lord: Judge ye judgement in the morning, and deliver him that is oppressed by violence out of the hand of the oppressor: lest my indignation go forth like a fire, and be kindled, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your ways.


6 Say ye to the nations: Behold it is heard in Jerusalem, that guards are coming from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Juda.


4 Wash thy heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that thou mayst be saved: how long shall hurtful thoughts abide in thee?


2 But in the first year d of Cyrus king of the Persians, to fulfil the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by the mouth of Jeremias, the Lord stirred up the heart of Cyrus king of the Persians who commanded it to be proclaimed through all his kingdom, and by writing also, saying:


1 Sedecias was one and twenty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.


9 My bowels, my bowels are in pain, the senses of my heart are troubled within me, I will not hold my peace, for my soul hath heard the sound of the trumpet, the cry of battle.


8 My sorrow is above sorrow, my heart mourneth within me.

Thus saith the Lord: Go down to the house of the king of Juda, and there thou shalt speak this word,


8 as I live, saith the Lord God, thy sister Sodom herself, and her daughters, have not done as thou hast done, and thy daughters.


They have abused father and mother in thee, they have oppressed the stranger in the midst of thee, they have grieved the fatherless and widow in thee.


5 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day of thy creation, until iniquity was found in thee.


Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharao the king of Egypt, and say to him: Thou art like the lion of the nations, and the dragon that is in the sea: and thou didst push with the horn in thy rivers, and didst trouble the waters with thy feet, and didst trample upon their streams.


And Joachin his son reigned in his stead.


3 There is none to judge thy judgment to bind it up : thou hast no healing medicines.


1 And the Lord hath uttered his voice before the face of his army: for his armies are exceeding great, for they are strong and execute his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible: and who can stand it?
