29 0 But I will sleep with my fathers, end thou shalt take me away out of this land, and bury me in the burying place of my ancestors. And Joseph answered him: I will do what thou hast commanded.

9 Now therefore write you this canticle, and teach the children of Israel: that they may know it by heart, and sing it by mouth, and this song may be unto me for a testimony among the children of Israel.


9 Wherefore if you do according to mercy and truth with my master, tell me: but if it please you otherwise, tell me that also, that I may go to the right hand, or to the left.


And he said to the elder servant of his house, who was ruler over all he had: Put thy hand under my thigh,


Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoary head go down to hell in peace.


1 By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with the unbelievers, receiving the spies with peace.


In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.


Turn not man away to be brought low: and thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.


6 Be not thou afraid, when a man shall be made rich, and when the glory of his house shall be increased.


4 They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory.

8 I went mourning without indignation; I rose up, and cried in the crowd.


9 Waters wear away the stones, and with inundation the ground by little and little is washed away: so in like manner thou shalt destroy man.


My days have passed more swiftly than the web is cut by the weaver, and are consumed without any hope.


9 And the king said: Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? 4 And Joseph returned into Egypt with his brethren, and all that were in his company, after he had buried his father.


1 And after many evils and afflictions shall have come upon them, this canticle shall answer them for a testimony, which no oblivion shall take away out of the mouth of their seed.
