3 Then David said to his young men: Let every man gird on his sword. And they girded on every man his sword. And David also girded on his sword: and there followed David about four hundred men: and two hundred remained with the baggage.


And David said to Achimelech: Hast thou here at hand a spear, or a sword? for I brought not my own sword, nor my own weapons with me, for the king's business required haste.


3 And returning from the battle before the sun rising,


0 But Zebee and Salmana were resting with all their army. For fifteen thousand men were left of all the troops of the eastern people, and one hundred and twenty thousand warriors that drew the sword, were slain.


5 And they answered: Our life is in thy hand: only let my lord look favourably upon us, and we will gladly serve the king.


4 Neither shall he that is near, say: I am feeble. The people that dwell therein, shall have their iniquity taken away from them.


7 And when they had brought them, he gave them food in exchange for their horses, and sheep, and oxen, end asses and he maintained them that year for the exchange of their cattle.


7 The counsel pleased Pharao and all his servants.
