34 Then Joseph went in and told Pharao, saying: My father and brethren, their sheep and their herds, and all that they possess, are come out of the land of Chanaan: and behold they stay in the land of Gessen.

8 And Pharao said: I will let you go to sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness: but go no farther: pray for me.


3 They sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his age. And they wondered very much:


3 And when he shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation?


3 Israel said to him : Thy brethren feed the sheep in Sichem: come, I will send thee to them. And when he answered:


1 And there I will feed thee, (for there are yet five years of famine remaining,) lest both thou perish, and thy house, and all things that thou hast.


6 And he set the space of three days' journey betwixt himself and his son in law, who fed the rest of his flock.


And when Hemor the father of Sichem was come out to speak to Jacob,


Whereupon also there arose a strife between the herdsmen of Abram and of Lot. And at that time the Chanaanite and the Pherezite dwelled in that country.


Abram therefore said to Lot: Let there be no quarrel, I beseech thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen: for we are brethren.


0 But there also the herdsmen of Gerara strove against the herdsmen of Isaac, saying: It is our water. Wherefore he called the name of the well, on occasion of that which had happened, Calumny.


Now Israel loved Joseph above all his sons, because he had him in his old age: and he made him a coat of divers colours.


9 Give orders also that they take wagons out of the land of Egypt, for/ the carriage of their children and their wives: and say: Take up your father, and make haste to come with all speed:


We are come to sojourn in thy land, because there is no grass for the flocks of thy servants, the famine being very grievous in the land of Chanaan: and we pray thee to give orders that we thy servants may be in the land of Gessen.


The king therefore said to Joseph: Thy father and thy brethren are come to thee.


After this Joseph brought in his to the king, and presented him before him: and he blessed him.


2 And he nourished them, and all his father's house, allowing food to every one.


4 And the Lord did so. And there came a very grievous swarm of flies into he houses of Pharao and of his servants, and into all the land of Egypt: and the land was corrupted by this kind of flies.
