8 And he was angry, and would not go in. His father therefore coming out began to entreat him.


And lifting up his eyes, he saw the women and their children, and said: What mean these? And do they belong to thee? He answered: They are the children which God hath given to me thy servant.


But we having finished the voyage by sea, from Tyre came down to Ptolemais: and saluting the brethren, we abode one day with them.


2 He ordered also to be brought out for every one of them two robes: but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver with Ave robes of the best:


0 And leave nothing of your house- hold stuff: for all the riches of Egypt shall be yours.


4 And the king said to Joseph: I am Pharao; without thy commandment no man shall move hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.


1 And when he had washed his face, coming out again, he refrained himself, and said: Set bread on the table.


And he said to his brethren: I am Joseph: is my father yet living? His brethren could no answer him, being struck with exceeding great fear.


1 And Joseph said to his brethren, and to all his father's house: I will go up, and will tell Pharao, and will say to him: My brethren and my father's house, that were in the land of Chanaan, are come to me:


1 And when the inhabitants of Chanaan saw this, they said: This is a great mourning to the Egyptians. And there- fore the name of that place was called, The mourning of Egypt.
