4 And Rachel and Lia answered: Have we anything left among the goods and inheritance of our father's house?


2 Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and was a keeper for a wife.


The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things.


1 If I shall whet my sword as the lightning, and my hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to my enemies, and repay them that hate me.


At the same time Debora the nurse of Rebecca died, and was buried at the foot of Bethel under an oak: and the name of that place was called, The oak of weeping.


He sent, and called Rachel and Lia into the field, where he fed the flocks,


With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.


7 And the shepherds came and drove them away: and Moses arose, and defending the maids, watered their sheep.


4 And he called the name of that place, The Lord seeth. Whereupon even to this day it is said: In the mountain the Lord will see.


He said to her: Agar, handmaid of Sarai, whence comest thou? and whither goest thou? And she answered: I flee from the face of Sarai, my mistress.


And passing on from thence to a mountain, that was on the east side of Bethel, he there pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east; he built there also an altar to the Lord, and called upon his name.


And as for Ninive, her waters are like a great pool, but the men flee away. They cry: Stand, stand, but there is none that will return back.


Come and behold ye the works of the Lord: what wonders he hath done upon earth,


In the meantime God said to Jacob: Arise, and go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar to God, who appeared to thee when thou didst flee from Esau thy brother.


And thou shalt go down before me to Galgal, (for I will come down to thee,) that thou mayest offer an oblation, and sacrifice victims of peace: seven days shalt thou wait, O till I come to thee, and I will shew thee what thou art to do.


And he saw a well in the field, and three flocks of sheep lying by it: for the beasts were watered out of it, and the mouth thereof was closed with a great stone.


6 And going forth from thence, he came in the springtime to the land which leadeth to Ephrata: wherein when Rachel was in travail,
