7 And searched all my household stuff? What hast thou found of all the substance of thy house? lay it here before my brethren, and thy brethren, and let them judge between me and thee.


7 Then Jacob rose up, and having set his children and wives upon camels, went his way.


0 And Abimelech said: Why hadst thou deceived us? Some man of the people might have lain with thy wife, and thou hadst brought upon us a great sin. And he commanded all the people, saying:


8 And Pharao called Abram, and said to him: What is this that thou hast done to me? Why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife.

3 And the Lord God said to the woman: Why hast thou done this? And she answered: The serpent deceived me, and I did eat.


4 Wherefore a man shall leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be two in one flesh.


And they came to him, and said: Hail, king of the Jews; and they gave him blows.


6 And he said to Jacob: Why hast thou done thus, to carry away, without my knowledge, my daughters, as captives taken with the sword.


8 Thou hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and daughters: thou hast done foolishly: and now, indeed,


6 Laban answered: It is not the custom in this place, to give the younger in marriage first.
