25 5 Far be it from thee to do this thing, and to slay the just with the wicked, and for the just to be in like case as the wicked, this is not beseeming thee: thou who judgest all the earth, wilt not make this judgment.

For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:


If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one for a thousand.


Behold they shall speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips: for who, say they, hath heard us ?


But the Lord's portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance.


He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that formed the eye, doth he not consider?


9 For God indeed was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their sins; and he hath placed in us the word of reconciliation.


Abraham begot Isaac. And Isaac begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Judas and his brethren.


he spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies, and the commandment which he gave them.


Is my inheritance to me as a speckled bird? Is it as a bird died throughout? come ye, assemble yourselves, all the beasts of the earth, make haste to devour.


2 For thy conscience knoweth that thou also hast often spoken evil of others.


Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body.


4 If there be fifty just men in the city, shall they perish withal? and wilt thou not spare that place for the sake of the fifty just, if they be therein?


1 See the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord our God hath spoken to thy fathers: fear not, nor be any way discouraged.


2 And you came all to me, and said: Let us send men who may view the land, and bring us word what way we shall go up, and to what cities we shall go.


2 And Jephte passed over to the children of Ammon, to fight against them: and the Lord delivered them into his hands.


After this the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them of the Ammonites, were gathered together to fight against Josaphat.


8 and because of all this we ourselves make a covenant, and write it, and our princes, our Levites, and our priests sign it.


6 If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.


And I praised the dead rather than the living:


If thou hast wearied with running with footmen, how canst thou contend with horses? and if thou hast been secure in a land of peace, what wilt thou do in the swelling of the Jordan?


Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,


7 And when they were departed from their tents round about, Dathan and Abiron coming out stood in the entry of their pavilions with their wives and children, and all the people.


8 And Obededom, with his brethren sixty-eight: and Obededom the son of Idithun, and Hosa he appointed to be porters.


8 Who saith to the king : Thou art an apostate : who calleth rulers ungodly?


Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger.


3 Shall I eat the flesh of bullocks? or shall I drink the blood of goats?


0 And I will break all the horns of sinners: but the horns of the just shall be exalted.
