4 Which when Abram had heard, to wit, that his brother Lot was taken, he numbered of the servants born in his house, three hundred and eighteen well appointed: and pursued them to Dan.


1 And Thare took Abram, his son, and Lot the son of Aran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, the wife of Abram his son, and brought them out of Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Chanaan: and they came as far as Haran, and dwelt there.


2 But when Jacob had heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent our fathers first:


1 And the king of Sodom said to Abram: Give me the persons, and the rest take to thyself.


9 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa.


But Lot also, who was with Abram, had flocks of sheep, and herds of beasts, and tents.


Neither was the land able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, and they could not dwell together.


1 And when he was come to a certain place, and would rest in it after sunset, he took of the stones that lay there, and putting under his head, slept in the same place.


For they were exceeding rich, and could not dwell together: neither was the land in which they sojourned able to bear them, for the multitude of their flocks.


6 Lest perhaps they bear the iniquity of their trespass, when they shall have eaten the sanctified things. I am the Lord who sanctify them.


7 And these are the generations of Thare: Thare begot Abram, Nachor, and Aran. And Aran begot Lot.
