For this gird yourselves with haircloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned away from us.


9 Who are thy people and thy inheritance, whom thou hast brought out by thy great strength, and in thy stretched out arm.


God hath not cast away his people, which he foreknew. Know you not what the scripture saith of Elias; how he calleth on God against Israel?

2 Now therefore give not your daughters to their sons, and take not their daughters for your sons, and seek not their peace, nor their prosperity forever: that you may be strengthened, and may eat the good things of the land, and may have your children your heirs for ever.


And I made an ark of setim wood And when I had hewn two tables of stone like the former, I went up into the mount, having them in my hands.


5 In what manner our fathers went down into Egypt, and there we dwelt a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers.

That we may possess the needy for money, and the poor for a pair of shoes, and may sell the refuse of the corn?


9 But neither did Juda itself keep the commandments of the Lord their God: but they walked in the errors of Israel, which they had wrought.


0 And the Lord cast off all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, till he cast them away from his face:


For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children, children that will not hear the law of God.


8 And a few men that shall flee from the sword, shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Juda: and all the remnant of Juda that are gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs.


5 Wherefore now we call the proud people happy, for they that work wickedness are built up, and they have tempted God and are preserved.
