Now as Jannes and Mambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.


1 And the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes, and to all the people, saying: The judgement of death is for this man: because he hath prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.


1 And they asked him, saying: Master, we know that thou speakest and teachest rightly: and thou dost not respect any person, but teachest the way of God in truth.


5 And they said to him: Sit down and read these things in our hearing. And Baruch read in their hearing.


And he spoke a parable also to them that were invited, marking how they chose the first seats at the table, saying to them:


9 And when the wicked shall depart from his wickedness, and shall do judgments, and justice: be shall live in them.


0 For they prophesy lies to you: to remove you far from your country, and east you out, and to make you perish.


Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.


4 Are not these things stored up with me, and sealed up in my treasures?


These are the precepts, and ceremonies, and judgments, which the Lord your God commanded that I should teach you, and that you should do them in the land into which you pass over to possess it:


5 Pour out thy indignation upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the provinces that have not called upon thy name: because they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have destroyed his glory.


Behold I have encompassed thee with bands: and thou shalt not turn thyself from one side to the other, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.


5 And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have dispersed them among the nations, and scattered them in the countries.


9 And thou shalt give to the priests, and the Levites, that are of the race of Sadoc, who approach to me, saith the Lord God, to offer to me a calf of the herd for sin.


4 And I will cause ot cease out of the cities of Juda, and out of the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy, and the coice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.


And thou shalt turn thy face to the siege of Jerusalem, and thy arm shall be stretched out: and thou shalt prophesy against it.
