17 9 The Lord also said to Moses: Say to Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch forth thy hand upon the waters of Egypt, and upon their rivers, and streams and pools, and all the ponds of waters, that they may be turned into blood: and let blood be in all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and of stone.

1 The Lord said to him: Who made man's mouth? or who made the dumb and the deaf, the seeing and the blind? did not I?


And Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three, when they spoke to Pharao.


The king of Egypt said to them: Why do you Moses and Aaron draw off the people from their works? Get you gone to your burdens.


And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad: and between the little chambers were five cubits:


Behold it cometh, and it is done, saith the Lord God: this is the day whereof I have spoken.


For the sinner is praised in the desires of his soul: and the unjust man is blessed.


5 And the seventh angel sounded the trumpet: and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of this world is become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign for ever and ever. Amen.


And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree: but only the men who have not the sign of God on their foreheads.

9 Then by the king's command Daniel was clothed with purple, and a chain of gold was put about his neck: and it was proclaimed of him that he had power as the third man in the kingdom.


Then came in all the king's wise men, but they could neither read the writing, nor declare the interpretation to the king.


Then were the golden and silver vessels brought, which he had brought away out of the temple that was in Jerusalem: and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines, drank in them.


5 They shall cast thee out from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with cattle and with wild beasts, and thou shalt eat grass as an ox, and shalt be wet with the dew of heaven: and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.


3 Whose graves are set in the lowest parts of the pit: and his multitude lay round about his grave: all of them slain, and fallen by the sword, they that heretofore spread terror in the land of the living.


And it came to pass in the eleventh year, the third month, the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying:


6 And I will make a fire in Egypt: Pelusium shall be in pain like a woman in labour, and Alexandria shall be laid waste, and in Memphis there shall be daily distresses.


7 And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first of the month: that the word of the Lord came to me, saying:


6 And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.


For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.

4 I have cut down, and I have drunk strange waters, and have dried up with the soles of my feet all the shut up waters.


3 The men took this for a sign: and in haste caught the word out of his mouth, and said: Thy brother Benadad. And he said to them: Go, and bring him to me. Then Benadad came out to him, and he lifted him up into his chariot.


And Moses told all this to the children of Israel: but they did not hearken to him, for anguish of spirit, and most painful work.


And she conceived, and bore a son; and seeing him a goodly child hid him three months.


2 And the magicians of the Egyptians with their enchantments did in like manner: and Pharao's heart was hardened, neither did he hear them, as the Lord had commanded.


To cover the face of the earth that nothing thereof may appear, but that which the hail hath left may be eaten: for they shall feed upon all the trees that spring in the fields.


Thy daughters that are in the field, he shall kill with the sword: and he shall compass thee with forts, and shall cast up a mount round about: and he shall lift up the buckler against thee.


4 Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord God:
