ARISE, arise, put on thy strength, O Sion, put on the garments of thy glory, O Jerusalem, the city of the Holy One: for henceforth the uncircumcised, and unclean shall no more pass through thee.


3 But woe to them that are with child, and give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.


When the Lord thy God hath destroyed the nations, whose land he will deliver to thee, and thou shalt possess it, and shalt dwell in the cities and houses thereof :


1 There is no idol in Jacob, neither is there an image god to be seen in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, and the sound of the victory of the king in him.


7 Returning he found him standing by his burnt sacrifice, and the princes of the Moabites with him. And Balac said to him: What hath the Lord spoken?


0 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and know the number of the stock of Israel? Let my soul die the death of the just, and my last end be like to them.


7 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee. Be not afraid at their presence : for I will make thee not to fear their countenance.


Who are these, that fly as clouds, and as doves to their windows?


I have baptized you with water; but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.


And the king said to the woman: Go to thy house, and I will give charge concerning thee.


And when he had done according to the word of Balaam, they laid together a calf and a ram upon every altar.


4 The Lord being angry at Moses, said Aaron the Levite is thy brother, I know that he is eloquent: behold he cometh forth to meet thee, and seeing thee shall be glad at heart.


2 But whilst we are judged, we are chastised by the Lord, that we be not condemned with this world.


Hear, O Israel, and observe to do the things which the Lord hath commanded thee, that it may be well with thee, and thou mayst be greatly multiplied, as the Lord the God of thy fathers hath promised thee a land flowing with milk and honey.


0 But by the grace of God, I am what I am; and his grace in me hath not been void, but I have laboured more abundantly than all they: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.


4 God said to Moses: I AM WHO AM. He said: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: HE WHO IS, hath sent me to you.


0 And Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had said to Moses: and he wrought the signs before the people,


After these things Moses and Aaron went in, and said to Pharao: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel: Let my people go that they may sacrifice to me in the desert.


3 And they went down alive into hell the ground closing upon them, and they perished from among the people.


And Isai called Abinadab, and brought him before Samuel. And he said: Neither hath the Lord chosen this.


Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness.


And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.


9 Consider my enemies for they are multiplied, and have hated me with an unjust hatred.
