1 And when he had received them, he fashioned them by founders' work, and made of them a molten calf. And they said: These are thy gods, O Israel, that have brought thee out of the land of Egypt.

4 Let me alone that I may destroy them, and abolish their name from under heaven, and set thee over a nation, that is greater and stronger than this.


3 But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to his promises, in which justice dwelleth.

4 And the Lord was appeased from doing the evil which he had spoken against his people.


0 Let me alone, that my wrath may be kindled against them, and that I may destroy them, and I will make of thee a great nation.


4 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.


Speak to the children of Israel: Let them turn and encamp over against Phihahiroth which is between Magdal and the sea over against Beelsephon: you shall encamp before it upon the sea.


And Moses and Aaron said to the children of Israel: In the evening you shall know that the Lord hath brought you forth out of the land of Egypt:


6 And Juda said to him: What shall we answer my lord? or what shall we say, or be able justly to allege? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are all bondmen to my lord, both we, and he with whom the cup was found.


8 And bringing his house man by man, he found Achan the son of Charmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zare of the tribe of Juda.


So the children of Israel laid aside their ornaments by mount Horeb.


The cup which you have stolen is that in which my lord drinketh, and in which he is wont to divine: you have done a very evil thing.


Neither is there any thing which is hot in my power, or that he hath not delivered to me, but thee, who art his wife : how then can I do this wicked thing, and I sin against my God?


4 So Lot went out, and spoke to his sons in law that were to have his daughters, and said : Arise : get you out of this place, because the Lord will destroy this city. And he seemed to them to speak as it were in jest.


1 And shall separate him, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.


6 And Abimelech answered: I knew not who did this thing: and thou didst not tell me, and I heard not of it till today.


6 Thou shalt not go up by steps unto my altar, lest thy nakedness be discovered.


6 Then standing in the gate of the camp, he said: If any man be on the Lord's side let him join with me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him:


7 How long doth this wicked multitude murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel.


6 Because they cast off my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, and violated my sabbaths: for their heart went after idols.


5 And when Moses was gone up, a cloud covered the mount.


5 And when Moses saw that the people were naked, (for Aaron had stripped them by occasion of the shame of the filth, and had set them naked among their enemies,)


Know therefore that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this excellent land in possession for thy justices, for thou art a very stiffnecked people.


3 That their children also, who now are ignorant, may hear, and fear the Lord their God, all the days that they lire in the land whither you are going over the Jordan to possess it.


6 And he lifted up his hand over them: to overthrow them in the desert;
