And the sons of Ruben and Gad had many flocks of cattle, and their substance in beasts was infinite. And when they saw the lands of Jazer and Galaad fit for feeding cattle,

Saying to them: Go ye into the village that is over against you, and immediately you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me.


4 They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory.


5 Yet she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.


AND when they were drawing near to Jerusalem and to Bethania at the mount of Olives, he sendeth two of his disciples,


4 Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.


0 That he may withdraw their souls from corruption, and enlighten them with the light of the living.


1 And when it was time to bring the chest before the king by the hands of the Levites, (for they saw there was much money,) the king's scribe, and he whom the high priest had appointed went in: and they poured out the money that was in the chest: and they carried back the chest to its place: and thus they did from day to day, and there was gathered an immense sum of money.


9 and David went up, according to the word of Gad, which he spoke to him in the name of the Lord.


7 And David said to God: Am not I he that commanded the people to be numbered? It is I that have sinned: it is I that have done the evil: but as for this flock, what hath it deserved? O Lord my God, let thy hand be turned, I beseech thee, upon me, and upon my father's house: and let not thy people be destroyed.


4 He that is counted in the number from twenty years and upwards, shall give the price.


4 And that which was received they brought into the tabernacle of the testimony, for a memorial of the children of Israel before the Lord.


But Levi and Benjamin he did not number: for Joab unwillingly executed the king's orders.


And David said to God: I have sinned exceedingly in doing this: I beseech thee take away the iniquity of thy servant, for I have done foolishly.


4 And when they had finished all the works, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Joiada: and with it were made vessels for the temple for the ministry, and for holocausts and bowls, and other vessels of gold and silver : and holocausts were offered in the house of the Lord continually all the days of Joiada.
